The Bloomfield track and field squads competed at the state meet held yearly at Burke stadium on May 19th and 20th and had some outstanding performances to come away with 4 medals out of the 6 events. In spite of the cool and wet weather, senior Cole Bruns had the highest finish of the 4 participants, as he placed 2nd in the shot put with a heave of 50’ 2”. He also placed 8th in the discus with a throw of 134’ 0”. Freshman Bree Eisenhauer was able to rewrite the 3200 M school record set by Dawn Wilken in 1989 of 12:33.3 by placing 6th in competition with a time of 12:23.3. She did not medal in the 1600 M where she ran a fine time of 5:52.1. Senior Amber Bruegman had a great last vaulting day as she medaled in 7 th place with a vault of 9’ 0”. Junior Travis Doerr also competed in the pole vault and finished with 11’ 0” but did not medal. Congratulations to all the track athletes for representing Bloomfield Community Schools well. The track athletes and coaches would also like to thank the Bloomfield Booster Club for the snacks they provided and the meal. They were greatly appreciated.
