As I sit back and reflect on our One Act season this year, I am reminded of how fortunate I am to work in such an awesome school district. I can’t say enough how proud I am of our kids! Scheduling practices around their already hectic schedules isn’t easy, yet these kids are able to make the best of the little time that we have.
All of this would never happen without the support we receive. I want to thank Kris Schmeckpeper for all of her work and dedication as my fellow coach, Kay Sgroi for volunteering to help us; especially for all of her work with the props and the painting of the Vietnam Memorial Wall (she included the names of every
Nebraska Fallen Soldier), and to Mariah Arroyos for all of her insight in developing the characters.
We would like to thank the cast and crew for all of their hard work and dedication! What an amazing group of kids! They dreamed of making it to State One Acts and made it a reality! We want to thank the Bee Boosters for their support and generosity and for providing our meal at Pizza Ranch. Thank you to Roland and Tammy Johnson and Kirk Hamm for transporting us, as well as helping us unload and reload all of our sets. Thank you to the Kuhlman’s for providing a trailer for us to transport all of our equipment. Thank you to the coaches for being flexible with your practice times and to Mrs. Alexander for ensuring that her students were able to juggle LDE’s and State One Act. Thank you to Mr. Alexander for returning those students to us. Thank you to everyone who helped us host the District One Act competition this year as well. We would also like to thank the cheerleaders for the sendoff and the parents who put up signs for us on our way out of town. Finally, we want to thank our families, the administration, the staff, parents, and the community for all of your support! It was a great and memorable season!
