Danielle Arganbright has been teaching for 15 years at Valentine High School and became the Striv teacher over 2 years ago.

But in college, Danielle didn’t think that becoming a teacher was in her cards. Little did she know, she would fall in love with everything about being an educator.

Now she is a trailblazer digital media education and student broadcasting.

Students across the country need teachers like Danielle, who will guide them and provide all the information needed to be successful through digital media education.

What Danielle Has Gained From Striv

Danielle is the Striv advisor at Valentine High School and teaches multiple digital media and broadcasting classes as well.

Valentine has utilized Striv for several years and through those years Danielle has had many amazing experiences, but there is one that stands out the most to her.

“Last year, I took a group of girls down to the state volleyball tournament and helped stream a couple of games at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Those girls still talk about that day. It was a great experience for all of us.”

Producing these state events, provides Striv students real-world experiences. But it doesn’t just stop at students, Danielle says that she has gained new skills and garnished new experiences through her involvement with Striv.

“I think the main thing is just becoming aware of everything. I have a lot of people that come to me now for videos, creating ads, and some radio station stuff. Just figuring out how to share the voices of my students in the best way.”

How Striv Has Benefited Valentine High School

At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, schools were scrambling to find a way to stream their events to the community, Valentine was one of these schools. But since 2020, the Valentine Striv Team has grown far past Danielle’s expectations.

“We have two channels, which we started during COVID. Ever since then we have had a middle school crew that takes care of everything on our second channel and our high school crew which takes care of our main channel. So now I have some sixth graders that are jumping in and learning the ropes.”

Middle schoolers pursuing digital media education is incredible.

By being the Striv advisor, Danielle is able to see her students grow. This growth comes from being a part of Striv and the real-world experiences that lead to her students gaining amazing skills.

“Confidence is a big one, whether that’s someone gaining the confidence to brave the mic and commentate. Or just creating and being confident in sharing their media on our stream.”

It is not just the students and teachers who benefit from being involved with Striv. Being able to connect Valentine to all of the amazing things her students are doing is incredible for her community.

“We try to share everything we can from quiz bowl to sports to choir concerts or spelling bees, all of it. I mean, we’re in the middle of nowhere, and a lot of grandparents and family aren’t able to get to us. So I think that is a huge benefit that we have for our community as a whole.”

Striv is an incredible outlet that allows schools to communicate and interact with their respective communities. It is no surprise that Danielle wants every school to utilize Striv to help out their schools.

“One of the biggest things that I have appreciated is that they’re always a phone call away. Striv has always shown the willingness to help and communicate with us which has been very much appreciated.”

Educators like Danielle are providing a nourishing environment for students to flourish through digital media education. Every school could benefit from giving their students access to Striv and live streaming.
