The 6th graders have been learning about simple machines in Mrs. Anderson's science class. Through a grant funded by the Sutton Education Foundation, 10 Simple and Powered Machines sets were purchased from Lego Education. These sets allowed students to build each type of simple machine, test each one, then record their findings. When time allowed, many students also did a "free build," in which they could be creative and add to the basics of the simple machines. This was all in preparation for the 6th graders' Rube Goldberg Contraption projects that will be judged and put on display at the Academic Fair on May 1. Thank you again to the SEF for purchasing these sets! And, by the way, can you name all 6 simple machines? If you can't, ask a 6th grader!
